Yin Yoga Class with Piedmont Women’s Heart Program begins March 2nd

Class Description: Yin Yoga for Heart Health (New Weekly Hybrid Class: meeting on Zoom AND at Sweet Tea Yoga, Mondays at 6:30pm)

Nurture your heart from the inside out in this gentle, deeply restorative Yin Yoga class with Jill Elkin. This class is designed to support cardiovascular well-being and stress management. Through long-held, floor-based poses, this class welcomes you just as you are. In the spaciousness of each pose, we will explore themes relating to open-heartness, the felt sense of inner peace, and experiencing yourself as connected and complete.

This class is ideal for anyone looking to reduce stress, improve flexibility, and cultivate a greater sense of inner well-being. Sessions will includes mindful breathing, brief guided iRest® meditations, and Yin Yoga poses. This class will invite a greater sense of friendliness towards your body and encourage release of lines of physical tightness— particularly in the hips, back, shoulders, and chest—areas often tight from daily stress.

All levels are welcome. Whether you’re looking to support your physical heart health, work on flexibility, or just feel more at ease within yourself, this class offers a compassionate space to slow down and restore balance.

Stress Management and Well-being

If you are looking for a new way to add stress management to your workplace or community, you may want to consider adding iRest as an integral part of your wellness offerings.

iRest meditation, also known as Integrative Restoration, is a form of guided meditation that aims to promote deep relaxation, stress reduction, and self-inquiry. It is used in populations from VA Hospitals to Fortune 500 companies, college campuses to hospice facilities, even homeless shelters and prisons.

Here are just a few of the ways iRest may make a huge improvement to your life, and the lives of your community:

1. Stress Reduction: iRest meditation helps you reduce stress levels. With regular practice, you can even learn to respond differently to stressful situations, improving interpersonal relationships and the productivity of the whole community. Chronic stress is a epidemic: decreasing the functioning of your immune system; linked to cardiac conditions and digestive issues; even shortening your lifespan.

2. Better Sleep: We all know that lots of people struggle with sleep disturbances due to stress and anxiety- you may be one of those people. iRest can help calm your nervous system, improving your overall sleep quality- we all know that sleep quality has profound impact on how we function in our daily life.

3. Increased Mindfulness and Self-Awareness: iRest meditation helps people become more aware of themselves. When one begins to notice how their thoughts and feelings are changing how they respond to situations in life, they can live with greater clarity of mind and improved decision-making… and when a whole community of people become more mindful, the group begins to improve how they work together and communicate with each other, creating a happier and healthier environment.

If any of the above is striking a chord with you, message me to start a conversation about different ways to bring iRest into your wellness offerings.
