My journey with yoga began as a child. I fondly remember doing sun salutations with my mother in the living room and learning to focus my attention through gazing meditation. I loved the feeling of moving in sync with my breath and the calmness that I experienced in those moments of stillness while gazing at clouds or candlelight. Those memories still make me smile.
In my adult life, I rekindled my love of those movements and found that there is so much more to yoga. After many years of dedicated yoga practice, I felt compelled to begin teaching it. I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training with The Center for Integrative Yoga Studies in a program designed to bring focus to therapeutic and meditative yoga.
My love for Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra started me on a path to further my education in the quieter side of yoga. After several years of teaching, I took a 300 hour advanced training in the Therapeutic Applications of Yoga. I thoroughly enjoy teaching from this trauma informed perspective, and found my anchor as a teacher (and practitioner) through iRest® meditation- completing the multi-year study to become a Certified iRest® Meditation Teacher.
I am registered with Yoga Alliance as an E- RYT 500, YACEP, and am certified in Restorative Yoga with Judith Hanson Lasater, Yin Yoga with Bernie Clark, as well as other certifications in Sound Baths and Sound Healing, Yoga Nidra, Yoga for Addiction, Trauma Informed Yoga, and Yoga Philosophy.
I strive to assist each student and client in finding the wholeness that is already within, a capacity to meet life’s challenges as they arrive, and a deeper understanding of their inner calling to live life as a connected and purposeful individual. We are already whole and complete, but sometimes we need a little help to feel it.
